Starting in January Healing & Empowerment Group for teen girls who have been abused or assaulted will be held at Ophelia's Place. The group will take place on Thursdays after school for 16 weeks. Contact Amy at 541-284-4334 to enroll or for more information.
New Resource The University of Oregon presents the Healthy Nests Project a service for expecting couples and new parents. Cost is free. Call Jeff Todahl 541-346-0919 or Deanna Linville 541-346-0921 for more information or to schedule a consultation.
New Resource Oregon Community Circles of Support is a new resource available to anyone connected to a military service member. Meets every Sunday from 1-3pm at the Little Brown House at Willamette Family, Inc. in Eugene. Includes groups for spouses, teens, and children. Cost is free, with free childcare and refreshments. Available Now Early Childhood Development and Public Policy: Closing the Gap Between What We Know and What We Do a podcast by Jack P. Shonkoff from the Center on the Developing Child, offers an overview of the impact of early childhood on brain development.
Available Now National Child Traumatic Stress Network's Speaker Series offers presentations on a variety of topics, including "Culture and Trauma" and "Service, Systems and Trauma."
