Workforce Wellness Training
June 6 @ 9:00 am
This workshop is for professionals who work with survivors of trauma and for lead staff and administrators working to develop and sustain workers and workplaces that are healthy for everyone. As many of us recognize, providing care and support for survivors of violence, abuse and other forms of trauma can be extremely rewarding, emotionally taxing, or both. Survivors who take on this work, especially survivors who have done their own healing, can be very powerful advocates and allies. However, when we don’t create or actively participate in processes that promote and facilitate healing, and personal and professional development, we become vulnerable as individuals and organizations to a wide range of dysfunction and patterned difficulties. If we also have our own unresolved trauma, these difficulties can be even more pronounced and hard to address. This workshop is an opportunity to explore the impact of trauma on workers and organizations and to develop trauma-sensitive strategies for supporting the health and well-being of staff and organizations serving survivors of trauma.
